International Transgender Day of Visibility memorial event was held for the first time in &PROUD Studio on 31st March with the aim of having more recognition on the rights and behaviors of transgender.

 “This event has been holding since 2009 in other countries. The event is held as Transgender Day of Remembrance. So, we have a question what to do for the persons who are still alive. A question came out whether or not we want to honour them. So, we made this event to honour the people who are still alive,” said Ma Ya Ya Aye Myat who established National Transgender Alliance of Myanmar (NTPAM).  

The event was organized for the Transgender in Myanmar to have chance to participate the International Transgender Day of Visibility which fall on 31 March.

 “I am a transgender woman and the reason I come here today is that today is Transgender Day. So, I come to support and help and entertain with dances, said Make-up Lin Lin who is a transgender.

Over 20 youth LGBT attended International Transgender Day of Visibility memorial event held at &PROUD Studio and the attendees were entertained by dances and songs of Transgender women and Transgender men.
