An entrepreneurial course was held at Dream Catcher Hotel in Yangon for young LGBTs and small business owners LGBTs who have interest in establishing their own business all over Myanmar.

18 LGBTs from respective States and Divisions of Myanmar are attending that course and the course will reportedly be held from 2nd July to 7th July.

“As the trainees are mainly LGBTs, such kind of courses can be beneficial if effectively executed. The trainees are supposed to be business owners rather than becoming employees. We can only give them techniques for now but if we get other investments at some time, there will be developments,” the trainer, U Kyaw Min Oo said.

14 out of all the 18 attendees are doing their own businesses and the rest are those who inherited their family business and company employees.

“I am still learning about food industry as I am interested in that field. For now, I work as a general manager at Closer Fashion as well as arranging online shopping,” said one of the trainees who is a transgender man, Ko Zayar Minn from Mawlamyine town.

During the training periods, topics about drawing business plan, impacts of exploring sales and marketing, human and products as well as Human Resource (HR) will be taught.
