To celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Beijing Platform of Action which is the most visionary agenda for the empowerment of women and girls all over the world, the project \u201cGeneration Equality: Realizing Women\u2019s Rights for an Equal Future,\u201d co-organized by Colors Rainbow together with UN Women, Embassy of Canada and other Gender Organizations will be implemented in Myanmar throughout 2020.  <\/sup><\/p>\n\n\n\n

In honor of the International Women\u2019s Day, the first dialogue of a series of inter-generational and intersectional dialogues on Gender Equality took place at Goethe Institute on March 9. The series of public dialogues will serve the purpose of having a public space to discuss priority areas of gender equality and to provide a safe space to speak up for those who have been silenced, stigmatized and shamed for far too long.<\/sup><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Colors Rainbow is incredibly honored to be chosen as an organizing partner in which we will ensure to address the LGBTIQ human rights issues in Myanmar together with feminist and youth advocates, human rights advocates and vulnerable group representatives to strengthen the cross-movement solidarity between the diverse constituencies of civil society to achieve a transformation movement for gender equality in Myanmar.<\/sup><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Over the course of the year, four thematic public dialogues will be implemented to address women\u2019s rights in Myanmar, patriarchy and toxic masculinity; changing norms and attitudes, inclusion of non-binary gender identities. Colors Rainbow believes in the emergence of addressing such issues as everyone — both LGBTIQ and non-LGBTIQ communities suffer from the similar system of oppression and social construction which we all are trying to reform. <\/sup><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
